Nature of Ministry: Caring for the development of disabled children
- Please pray that the disabled and disadvantaged children in the Matumaini area reach their God given potential and become responsible members of the community.
- Please pray that the word of God be preached in this community.
- For families and communities to be delivered from believing disability is a curse and demonic.
- For willing labourers efforts and salaries, who are willing to serve the disadnavtaged.
- For financial resources to run the Centre and meet the children’s educational, medical and clothing and food needs.
- For a 4WD 32 seater vehicle.
We seek to enlist donors to meet the needs of the Centre.
We need finances for labourers and the idividual needs of the children, in terms of medicine, clothing and food.
We have a need for a bigger vehicle than we currently have, for transporting the children, a 32 seater is our real need.
We invite you to partner with us to help realise the children’s dream through volunteering for short and long term mission, in the various children’s ministries.
PEFA Matumaini Rehabilitation Centre is a registered charitable, children’s institution.
The Cenre comes under the Kenyan government, ministry of labour, social security and services for children who are physically and or mentally challenged and disadvantaged. Some of the children are also orphans.
It is a mission of PEFA churches (Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa). The Centre is located 10km East of Molo town, which is 45 km North West of Nakuru town, on the Nakuru Eldoret Highway in Nakuru County, Kenya.
The Centre currently caters for 64 children, 20 of these live at the Centre’s hostel and attend the adjacent Tumaini Integrated Primary School. The rest of the children attend boarding schools during term time and others live with relatives in the surrounding community.
We are Christians. We are committed to serving children and the community. We believe that disability is not inability and that all children and community are able to reach their God given potential. We value
people. We are dedicated to caring for the needs of the disabled, vulnerable children and young people, by providing a safe environment where the disabled children realize their full potential in life and have hope for the future.
Our children come from a variety of backgrounds: neglected, abandoned, unwanted, outcasts, stigmatized, malnourished and abused (verbally, physically and sexually). Almost all of our children have epilpsy (which is considered contagious and demonic) and each one of them has at least one or two of the following conditions:-
osteogenesis imperfect, muscular dystrophy. paraplegia, spina bifida, autism, cerebral palsy, club
feet, schizophrenia, bilatar atrophy, microcephaly, incontinence, hydrocephalus, hemiplegia, hyperactivity,
These conditions are amongst other physical conditions and intellectual disabilities.
