Refugee

The city has a population of nearly 20 million, and is the cultural and economic center of the nation and surrounding region. The city is both secular and Islamic, Western and Middle Eastern. Our team ministers among the refugee communities seeking to care for the breadth of their needs. This includes meeting them in their poverty and uncertainty, sharing the good news of Jesus, and discipling potential leaders for the church. We are looking for people passionate and gifted to serve in any of these areas:1) Refugee Women and Children ministries: Directing programs, visitation, discipleship, and pregnancy support.2) Disciple-making movements: We currently oversee two Persian and one Arabic fellowship, work in partnership with many others, and are seeking to initiate house-based fellowships among many different communities.3) General refugee ministry (compassion and discipleship). Depending on gifting, this can involve sharing the gospel, leading bible studies, building friendships, visitation, hospitality, teaching English, tea house ministries, ministries of compassion, and meeting with individual refugees to work towards finding long term solutions to their situations. It is possible for people to work broadly or to focus more narrowly on English, Turkish, French, Russian, Arabic, or Persian communities.
